Top Campden Park wins South Leeward Football title
THE PINK PARADE last Saturday evening, September, 6, 2025 at the Campden Park Playing Field was not in vain, and the vocal supporters of Top Campden Park were compensated as they were on hand to witness their team lift the 2025 South Leeward Football title.
A 3-1 win over Lower Campden Park put the contest beyond doubt as the new winners completed an unbeaten run in the competition.
Top Campden Park’s goals came from Imani Miller, N- Tini Delpeche and Juemar Luke, whilst Lower Campden Park’s lone response came compliments a Mark Garrick goal.
En route to the final, Top Campden Park beat former champions,Rose Place, while Lower Campden Park ousted Clare Valley One, 2-0.
Clare Valley One scooped the third place, doing so without a sweat, after Rose Place failed to show up for the play off which should have preceded the final.
For the top three teams’ efforts,Top Campden Park was rewarded with $1,200, Lower Campden Park, $1000, and Clare Valley One, $800.
Additionally, the three top teams were presented with their respective trophies.
Saturday’s final ,for the first time, was played in the evening, facilitated by portable lights provided by Grenville Williams, who is earmarked to represent the Unity Labour Party in the upcoming General Elections.
Williams, along with incumbent parliamentary representative for South Leeward, Nigel Stephenson, pledged to have lights installed at the venue in time for the next competition, whichever political party forms government.
