Knights clip Eagles’ wings in Zonal cricket finals
North Central Knights were crowned champions of the 2025 St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association’s Zonal Tournament, with a comfortable 6-wicket victory over the North Windward Eagles in the finals played at the Park Hill Playing Field.
Having won the toss, the North Windward Eagles decided to take first knock, but never found momentum and were bundled out for 70 runs in 28.4 overs. The destroyers were Christiano Adams who took 3 for 13, and J’Shorn Johnny, 2 for 15, as they dismantled the top order. They were supported by Kyah Dellimore, 2 for 6, and Ahmaud Williams 1 for 10.
There was resistance from Amar Lavia who scored 19 off 45 balls, and Danroy Nanton, 17 off 40, but wickets fell regularly, and extras contributed 22.
The North Central Knights knocked off the target of 71 in 16 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Ahmaud Williams top-scored with 26 not out from 17 balls, which included 4 fours and 1 six. He was supported by Liam Baptiste with his 17 off 46.
For the Eagles, Amar Lavia, 1 for 17; Danroy Nanton, 1 for 13; and Trace Deane, 1 for 12; picked up wickets for the Eagles, as North Central Knights won by 6 wickets to be crowned champions of the 2025 SVGCA MSDA Zonal Cricket Tournament.
Ahmaud Williams of North Central Knights was named Player of the Final for his explosive unbeaten 26 not out, and 1 for 10.
