2025 National Track and Field Championships slated for July 19 and 20

The 2025 staging of Team Athletics SVG’s Wendell Hercules National Championships takes place at the Diamond Track Facility, on July 19 and 20.

There will be some novelty to this year’s championships as it will see participation from overseas- based Vincentian athletes.

This, in keeping with a new World Athletics stipulation in their ranking system, whereby athletes will no longer be required to meet qualification standards, but be ranked according to their performances over the season.

As such, each country’s national championships will carry the most ranking points for athletes desiring to participate at the World Championships in Tokyo, in September, 2025.

Expectations are high that the likes of Shafiqua Maloney, Handal Roban, Amal Glasgow, Earl Simmonds, and others will compete on home soil for the first time in many years.
