Central Leeward and Grammar School top Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Meet

The female athletes of the Central Leeward Secondary secured victory in the 2024 Inter-Secondary Schools Athletics Championships taking the female title with a total of 422 points; while the St Vincent Grammar School did similarly in the boys segment with a tally of 335 points.

The championships, which were held on Thursday March, 21, 2024 at the Diamond Athletics track also saw the Girls’ High School taking the silver medal with a tally of 282 points, while the bronze medal was taken by the Georgetown Secondary School which amassed 144 points. The Thomas Saunders Secondary School placed fourth with 131 points, and in fifth position was the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary which amassed a total of 121 points- all in the female segment of competition.

Placing second to the St Vincent Grammar School in the male segment of the championships was the Central Leeward Secondary School which took silver having amassed 287 points, while the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary School took the bronze medal with 222 points. The St. Martin’s Secondary School was fourth with 180 points, and fifth was the Thomas Saunders Secondary School with 134 points.

Kessian John with a total of 51 points was crowned Victrix Ludorum, and Kingroy Hepburn with 37 points, was named the Victor Ludorum. Both athletes are from the Central Leeward Secondary School.

Twenty-four new records were established at the annual meet.
