Inter-school Sport launched

The Division of Physical Education and Sports in the Ministry of the Public Service, Consumer Affairs and Sports launched their Inter-school Sports Competition on Monday, October 10 at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex. Various schools across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) are expected to participate in Table Tennis, Netball and Football.

The Competition kicks off on Thursday October 14 at the Anglican School Annex with Table Tennis; October 15 and 16 would see the start of the Netball and Football competitions respectively.

More than 70 teams from primary and secondary schools in SVG are expected to participate in the different sporting disciplines.

Minister of the Public Service, Consumer Affairs and Sports Frederick Stephenson, welcomed the move noting that it has been over two years since any of the various championships had taken place in schools. He said that his ministry remains committed to working with the youth of this country to harness their sporting abilities.

Activities will climax on December 3 when medals and trophies would be distributed to the schools who in the top positions. (API)
