Four battling for top two first division spots

LAYOU, LARGO Height, Pride and Joy and Volcanoes, are seeking the two spots that will take them to the premier division of the next National Club Championships.

All four are in contention to return to the top flight of local football.

Layou, though, sit on pole position, with 26 points, gained from 8 wins and 2 draws.

In second position are Largo Height on 24 points, having notched up 7 wins and 3 draws, with Pride and Joy, in third place. Pride and Joy have 22 points, from 7 wins 1 draw and 2 losses.

Completing the top four are Volcanoes on 21 points, secured from 6 wins and 3 draws. Volcanoes though have one match in hand.

Layou, Largo Height and Pride and Joy, all have one match remaining, while Volcanoes have two.

This was the standings when the championships halted on March 13, after the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation applied brakes, following the threat of the pandemic coronavirus (COVID-19).

Apart from the four top teams, the rest of the table shows Owia United – 12 points, Sparta FC- 12 points, QCESCO Titans -12 points and RSVG Police – 11 points, occupying the next four places in that order.

And, facing relegation to the second division, are Glenside Ball Blazers, K & R Strikers, Toni Stores Jugglers and Hill View.

The four teams finishing from ninth to 12th, will be demoted to the second division.

Already gaining promotion to the first division, are Parkside Rollers and Richmond Hill.
