Guyana Jaguars stay perfect in PCL 

Guyana Jaguars stayed perfect after four matches with a comfortable eight wicket win over the Windwards Islands Volcanoes, in the latest round of matches in the Regional Four Day Professional Cricket League (PCL), which ended Sunday.

Guyana Jaguars posted 454/9 declared at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence; Anthony Bramble-168, Tagnerine Chanderpaul-117 and Romario Shepherd- 72.

Bowling for the Windwards Islands Volcanoes, Josh Thomas 4/74 and Ray Jordan, 2/56.

In response, the Volcanoes – 209, with Allick Athanaze scoring 66 and Denis Smith – 37.

Keemo Paul was the pick of the Guyana Jaguars bowling, snaring 6/57, with Vereesammy Permaul taking 2/38 and Romario Shepherd 2/47.

Asked to follow on, with a deficit of 245, the Windwards Volcanoes compiled 361.

Kirk Edwards smashed 139; Dennis Smith 67, Devon Smith 65 and Roland Cato 36.

Bowling for the Jaguars, Keemo Paul – 4/72 and Kudesh Motie-Kanhai – 2/62.

Shimron Hetmyer struck a boundary filled 61, to lead the Jaguars to 121/2 and their fourth straight win.

And at the Sabina Park in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force beat Jamaica Scorpions by 158 runs.

Red Force reached 203; Yannick Cariah led with 61 and Khary Pierre contributed 35.

Nikita Miller was the pick of the Scorpions’ bowling, grabbing 5/62; Rovman Powell – 3/40 and Oshane Thomas – 2/30.

Scorpions’ batting did not ignite, blown out for 112; Chadwick Walton topscored with 35.

Anderson Phillip – 3/26, Khary Pierre – 2/7, Odean Smith – 2/14 and Daniel St Clair – 2/40, shared the wickets.

With a lead of 88, Red Force scored 233 in their second innings. Khary Pierre- 46 and Darren Bravo- 38.

Nikita Miller with 7/87 and Reynard  Leveridge – 2/27.

Set 325 to win, the Scorpions folded for 167. Oriane Williams stroked 56 and Asad Fudadin 35 not out.

Imran Khan picked off 5/59 and Khary Pierre 3/29.

The next round of matches begin on Thursday.

At Providence, Guyana Jaguars face the Leeward Islands Hurricanes; the Windward Islands Volcanoes host the Jamaica Scorpions at the Grenada National Stadium and at Tarouba in South Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force entertains the Barbados Pride.

Guyana Jaguars are on 80.2 points from 4 matches; the Leeward Islands Hurricanes, 43.6 points from 3 matches; followed by the Windward Islands Volcanoes on 42.8 points from 4 matches.

Barbados Pride trail in fourth place – 29.8 points from 3 matches; Trinidad and Tobago Red Force – 28 points also from 3 matches and the Jamaica Scorpions – 14.4 points, from their 3 matches.
