Unique Warriors, Overland cop North East age group football titles
Unique Warriors won the Under-15 Division and Overland, the Under-19, when the age group titles of the North East Football League were decided last Sunday at the Chili Playing Field.
In securing the Under-15 title, a brace each from Kenson Pope, Shemar Adams and Keion Mc Millan handed Unique Warriors an uncomplicated 6-1 win over Owia FC.
A Kadeem Henry goal was the only redemption for Owia FC.
Meanwhile, Overland beat Chapmans, 3-2, in a match decided on kicks from the penalty spot.
This, after both teams drew one goal apiece in regulation time.
Taking the third places were SV United in the Under-15 and Richland Park Pride and Joy in the Under 19.
Following Sundayâs finals, the top individual performers in both divisions were named.
Delano Moore of Unique Warriors was named Best Goalkeeper in the Under-15 Division, while his team mate Saied Dabreo, was adjudged the Best Midfielder.
Shemor Adams and Kenson Pope, both of the champion team Unique Warriors, shared the title of Best Striker.
Raysean Matthias of Owia copped the Best Defender accolade.
The Under-19 Division awards went Curtney Peters â the Best Defender; Terris Joseph â Best Midfielder; and Delano Da Souza â Best Striker. All three represented Overland.
The other award that was grasped went to Delano Mc Dowald of Richland Park Pride and Joy, named the Best Goalkeeper.
The age group competitions have now given way to the elite division, which got started in earnest following last Sundayâs opening ceremony.(RT)
