The new programme was launched on Saturday, February 6, at the conference room of Expert Computer Centre, upstairs The Music Centre in Kingstown.

The Junior Olympians’ mission is “To inculcate an understanding of and appreciation for Olympism in children aged 8-15 within the context of establishing a national sports culture.”

The intention of the programme was to stimulate an understanding of Olympism and the ideals of Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Movement.

It is the aim of the organization that children develop into individuals who have keen interests in sports, as a result of the sound educational knowledge offered to them at this level.

We believe that as they experience the multifaceted nature of Olympism, they would be able to have a significant impact on the people with whom they come into contact each day.
