SVG’s first gymnastic team brings home bronze

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ first-ever gymnastics team has brought home bronze, after placing third at a competition in the USA last weekend.

The Dolphin Gymnastics and Health Academy was one of nine competitors at the Houston National Invitational event, which took place on February 6 in Houston, Texas.{{more}}

Coached by LaPrise Harris-Williams, the team of eight girls competed in floor exercise, uneven bars, balance beams and on vault, and returned to SVG yesterday afternoon.

The team comprised Zanthe Bascombe, Dakia Child, Abigail Deshong, Teya Garraway, Chiamaka Jackson, Jasmine McLawrence, Adiah Phillips and Saskia Truchot.
