Donwell Hector joins Twenty/20 century list

Victors One’s Donwell Hector caned 105 not out, which included 10 sixes and three fours, and Miles Bascombe was 68 not out to lead their team to 192 for 3 off 20 overs against French Verandah SVG Community College, last Sunday at the Arnos Vale Two in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams Twenty/20 Cricket Competition.{{more}}

But the SVG Community College batsmen could not cope with the bowling of Atticus Browne – 4 for 19 and Norlan Williams – 3 for 21, crumbling for 98 all out. Jeremy Haywood hit 24 and Anfenee Joseph – 20.

At the Sion Hill Playing Field, Bequia Cricket Association defeated KCCU Triumph United by 29 runs.

Bequia Cricket Association made 115 all out off 16.1 overs; Jenry Ollivierre got 57 and Dean Browne – 16.

Bowling for Triumph United, Rosnelle Williams took 3 for 17, Leroy Roberts 3 for 23 and Travis Cumberbatch had 2 for 18.

Triumph United, at their turn, were dismissed for 86 in 16.5 overs, with Rohan Ash making 28 and Kenyon Dowers, 25.

Jenry Ollivierre picked off 4 for 19, Dean Browne, 2 for 16 and Meshack Williams, 2 for 18.

Also trumping on Sunday were Guardian General Saints, who defeated Combined Youths by 44 runs at Arnos Vale One.

Batting first, Saints made 167 for 5 off their 20 overs. Topping Saints’ batting was Romel Currency with 42 not out; his younger brother Sunil Ambris hit 40 and Rickford Walker contributed 30.

Combined Youths, in response, could only reach 123 for 7 from their 20 overs; Marlon Farrell struck 49 and Nickie Antoine – 23.

Currency followed up with the ball, taking 2 for 16 and Nesron Samuel, 2 for 17.

Other victors on the day were defending champions Team Rivals and Northern Stars.

At the Arnos Vale Two venue, Police Two made 110 for 9 from their 2o overs. Gosnel Cupid scored 58 not out. Kesrick Williams – 3 for 10 and Olanzo Jackson – 3 for 14, were the pick of Team Rivals’ bowling.

Team Rivals responded with 114 for 3. Hyron Shallow made 48 not out.

And at Sion Hill , Northern Stars beat Police One by 67 runs.

Northern Stars batted first and registered 171 for 7 from their 20 overs, with Vidal Edwards – 64 and Omar Tucker – 37.

Police made 104 in reply. Sylvan Spencer top scored with 25, as Benniton Stapleton grabbed 4 for 38 and Shammon Hooper – 2 for 10.

Twelve matches are scheduled for this weekend, as the competition goes full throttle.(RT)
