Three more teams advance in TBPO Softball Competition

Three more teams have improved their chances to lift the 2015 National Lotteries Authority TBPO Softball Cricket Competition.

The three latest to enter the fray as contenders to unseat Gairy’s Construction Simple Boys are CGM Gallagher Novice, Gomea Bombers and Richmond Hill.{{more}}

They did so last weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field, as the elimination phase continued.

Novice recorded a 72-run win over EZ Woods Toppers.

Batting first, Novice made 114 for 8 in 18 overs, with Elton Williams making 24.

For Toppers, Sheldon Nanton took 3 for 5 and Darron Henry had 3 for 25.

Toppers’ response stopped at 42 all out in 17 overs, as Chris King – 3 for 10, Shamic Roberts – 2 for 8 and Vernardo Primus and Norlan Williams, both picked up 2 for 2.

Gomea Bombers, however, had to fight to eke out a 7–run win, thus showing Smart Strikers the way to the exit.

Gomea Bombers were dismissed for 86 in 15 overs; Raymond Sayers top scored with 25.

Bowling for Smart Strikers, Alex Roberts grabbed 3 for 6 and Shawn Williams had 3 for 10.

In reply, Smart Strikers reached 79 for 8 in their 15 overs, as Raymond Sayers, with 3 for 13 and Edwin Joe, 3 for 18, did the restricting job.

And, Richmond Hill United won by 55 runs over Winter Boys.

Richmond Hill United, helped by 42 extras, along with Rohan Ash’s 37, posted 140 all out from 17 overs.

Bowling for Winter Boys, Raffique Sayers took 3 for 37 and Glenroy John, 2 for 10.

Winter Boys, in reply, made 85 all out in 14.2 overs; Emmanuel Baptiste got 24 and Raffique Sayers – 21.

Collin Lee, with 4 for 13 and Deptor Culzac, 2 for 12, were Richmond Hill’s most successful bowlers.(RT)
