Year Two DASGS win SVGCC Inter-divisional Netball title
Year Two Arts, Science and General Studies were at the top of the heap when the ECGC St Vincent and the Grenadines Inter-Divisional Netball Competition had the final whistle blown on it last Friday afternoon at the Kingstown Netball Centre.{{more}}
Coming up against Year One of the same faculty, the Year Two students led in all quarters, 7-4, 14-12, 25-18, before finally trumping 32-27.
Year Twoâs success in the circle was led by Shadeen Stewart, who scored 18 of her 24 attempts and Brittany Williams, who had 14 of her 22 converted.
Showing greater accuracy under the rim for the losing finalists, Kenica Nichols registered 25 of her 26 and Kiana Charles was perfect, scoring her two attempts.
In getting to the finals, Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies ended the preliminary round, which involved four matches, with nine points and a goal difference of plus eight, edging out Year Two Technical, who also tallied nine points, but a plus six in goal differential.
Year One Arts, Sciences General Studies also ended on nine points, but with a superior goal difference among the three tied teams, that of plus 15.
At the short presentation ceremony which followed last Fridayâs final, Brittany Williams, of the winning unit Year Two Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies, was adjudged Player of the Final.
Meanwhile, Year Two Technicalâs Shantal Rouse was voted as the Best Centre Court Player, while Zeyana Charles of Year Two Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies, was the Best Defender. Taking the Best Shooter award was Kenica Nichols of Year One Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies.
The Division of Teacher Education scooped the Most Disciplined Team award.(RT)
