It will be a two-way fight between the incumbent Venold Coombs and long standing football manager Roddy Dowers for the top position of president.
This is Dowersâ maiden effort at being elected to a position within the national football set-up.
Meanwhile, five persons in Otashie Spring, Osbourne Bowens, Wayne Grant, Keith Duncan and Kendale Mercury will contest the position of first vice-president.
All except Bowens are seeking to be elected to the executive of the SVGFF for the first time.
The successful candidate will replace Kenton Ollivierre, who resigned in January of this year, after serving for just over one year. In the interim though, Dominique Stowe, who was a committee member on the outgoing executive, acted in that capacity.
The list of nominations shows four contenders for the position of second vice president, including the incumbent Marvin Fraser. Those trying to unseat him are St Clair Stapleton, Trevor Huggins and Clemroy Francois. Stapleton is the only nominee for this position who will be facing the SVGFFâs elections for the first time.
The other post, third vice-president, will have as contenders first timers – Bevan Lewis and Wayde Jackson, and the incumbent Elroy Paul Boucher.
Coombs, Spring, Fraser and Jackson have been declared as a slate, going into the elections.
The current executive under Coombs was elected September 24, 2011 for a four-year term.
Saturdayâs elections are part of the federationâs Annual General Meeting; the agenda also contains the Minutes of Last Meeting; the Amendment and Correction of Minutes; Matters Arising out of Minutes; the Presidentâs Report; the Auditorâs Report; and Any Other Business.
The Annual General Meeting is set to commence at 10 a.m. with the Call to Order, Opening Remarks, Prayer and Roll Call.(RT)
