The donation is proceeds from a breast stroke relay classic held last month at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre at Ratho Mill.

The Blue Marlins Swim Club is operated by Neisha Alexander and Rickydene Alexander.

Alexander told SEARCHLIGHT that the donation represents their tangible way of assisting in the fight against cancer.

He said once things are in place in 2016, the club hopes to do it all over again, with the intent of making it their annual flagship event.

SCORCH is the acronym for “I am Standing Strong Courageous Optimistic Resilient Confident and Hopeful”.

The group was founded in January 2014 and officially launched in August last year.(RT)
