Novice beat up on Richmond Hill in TBPO softball

After chalking up back to back wins the previous weekend, Richmond Hill was brought down to earth by CGM Gallagher Novice last Saturday, at the Dauphine Playing Field, in the last round of matches in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Softball Cricket competition.{{more}}

Batting first, Novice posted 166 for 7 from 20 overs; Andre Hunte made 43 not out, hitting five sixes in the final over, while Sydney Campbell hit 24 and Zane Edwards, 22.

Bowling for Richmond Hill United, Deptor Culzac took 2 for 17 and Justin Lee, 2 for 28.

In reply, Richmond Hill United made 72 all out in 13.2 overs. Zenroy Lee stroked 27.

Uroy Farrell took a record-breaking 7 for 9 and Vernardo Primus 2 for 23, as Novice won by 94 runs.

Before them, Stingers got easy points from Godson Caine Highlanders, who failed to show up.

Then, on Sunday, Dr Thomas Injectors derailed New Track Guys by eight wickets.

New Track Guys were dismissed for 41 in 8.1 overs, as Kesron Ashton took 2 for 10 and Quesnel Cottoy 2 for 17.

In reply, Dr Thomas Injectors reached 42 for 2 in five overs.

And Gomea Bombers easily disposed of Carriere Blazers by 106 runs.

Julian Toby top scored with 43, to lead Gomea Bombers to 150 for 9 in 20 overs.

Bowling for Carriere Blazers, Jerando Jardine picked off 3 for 12 and Orando Mars – 3 for 23.

But Carriere Blazers’ innings was short-lived, as they were blown away by the bowling of Raymond Sayers, who took 4 for 11, Alwayn Quashie – 2 for 12 and Larson Mapp – 2 for 21, humbled for a paltry 44.(RT)
