SOSVG to kick off National Games with Aquatic Meet

On Sunday, November 1, Special Olympics SVG will kick off its annual National Games, scheduled to take place on February 4 and 5, 2016 at the Victoria Park, when it hosts its National Games Aquatic Meet at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre.{{more}}

Athletes of all ages with an intellectual disability will compete for medals and ribbons in:

25 metres Freestyle & Breast Stroke

50 metres Freestyle & Breast Stroke

4 x 25 metres Freestyle Relays and

4 x 50 metres Free Style Relays

Fresh from Special Olympics World Games 2015 in July, Los Angeles, California, this meet promises to be an exciting one. All athletes, from Bequia and various places on the mainland, have trained hard and are well prepared and very excited to participate.

This event, like all Special Olympics meets, gives the athletes an opportunity to showcase their sporting talents, meet with friends and make new ones from around St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The public is invited to come out to support and cheer on the athletes. The event begins at 9 a.m.
