Circumstance take North Leeward Cricket title

Circumstance of Fitz Hughes are the 2015 Vinlec North Leeward Twenty/20 Cricket champions. This after they defeated North Stars on Sunday in the final at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

Circumstance scored 174 all out off 19.5 overs; Zane Edwards made 46; Jerron John and Rickford Walker both stroked 28.

Javon Samuel carried his tally of wickets to 17, as he finished with 5 for 32.

In reply, North Stars scored 157 all out, off 19.5 overs. Rodney Lawrence got 54, inclusive of seven sixes and Lindon James – 31.

Kesroy De Bique took 3 for 33, Hank Hall, 2 for 34, Player of the Final Rickford Walker, 2 for 30, and Casmond Walters, 2 for 15, to see their team to a 17-run triumph.

In the presentation ceremony which followed, the most promising wicketkeeper was Alanzo Howe of the Petit Bordel Secondary School, while the most promising bowler was Carlos James Troumaca Starlight’s Kentish John.

Also the most promising batsman award was snapped up by Starlight’s Ronique Samuel.

The most outstanding wicketkeeper was Robertson Surveying Future Legends’ Oswald Soleyn, while the award for most wickets – 17, was shared by Robertson Surveying Future Legends’ Shangi John and North Stars’ Javon Samuel.

Lindon James scored the most runs – 370. He also was the Most Valuable Player of the competition, as he added 11 scalps.

Also rewarded were the three centurions – RSVG Police’s Mc Leon Williams, who hit an even 100 versus Somerset; William Edwards, who stoked 126 not out for Carlos James Rose Bank against Circumstance; and North Stars’ Lindon James, whose 126 was scored against Ajuba.
