Team Athletics SVG has put forward the reasons for the change of date and route.
âThe race date of this event was changed because it was competing with a number of established road races and many of the overseas athletes found it difficult to attend⦠Additionally, the rules in place to protect and preserve Fort Charlotte as a heritage site did not allow for the festival atmosphere which TASVG wanted to create at that venue,â a release from Team Athletics SVG stated.
Despite the postponement, Team Athletics SVG has received commitments of participation from Grenada, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana and Trinidad and Tobago.
Registration for this event ends November 13 and Team Athletics SVG is making it clear that, âNo late registration will be accepted.â
With the NACAC 10K pushed forward, other events on the TASVGâs calendar have also been reset.
The Central Leeward road race, which was slated for last Sunday, will take place Sunday, October 25, while the TASVG âRound D Townâ Road Relay, which was to take place November 22, will now be held one week later, November 29.(RT)
