Vincentian duo heads out for Guadeloupe10k
Durable long distance athlete Pamenos Ballantyne and top local female distance runner Linda Mc Dowall will represent St Vincent and the Grenadines in this Saturdayâs NACAC Petit Bourg 10k in Guadeloupe.{{more}}
Ballantyne was the first among the English speaking athletes in 2014 when he clocked 33 minutes 49 seconds in the event to finish sixth overall.
The event was won by Juan Carlos Montero of Mexico, who timed 30 minutes 40 seconds.
The other four places were copped by Rawandaâs Dieduonne Disi â second; Kenyaâs Tirop Kesio â third, with Guadeloupeâs Eddy Boulate â fourth and Claude Nohile of Martinique â fifth.
The other Vincentian male who contested the event was Meshach Dublin, whose 36 minutes 37 seconds put him 15th overall.
Mc Dowall finished fourth in the womenâs segment in 40 minutes 52 seconds.
Ballantyne and Mc Dowall warmed up for the Guadeloupe outing against their local counterparts in the LOG Enterprise Byera Hill 5k last Sunday.(RT)
