Such was the effect of the showers that Saturday’s set match between Better Brand Distributors Enterprise and Smashers was rained out and the points shared.

But on Sunday, when the heavens cleared and allowed some play, Clinchers, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem and RSVG Police shone their way to victory.

Clinchers registered a six-wicket win over Godson Cain Highlanders.

Batting first, Highlanders got to 91 for 8, in their 17 overs. J’var Cain top scored with 34.

Clinchers then replied with 94 for 4 in 13.1 overs, led by Desron Spring’s knock of 47.

Following Clinchers, Nar Fren Dem defused Gomea Bombers by 48 runs.

Nar Fren Dem’s total of 93 for 9 from 17 overs, saw Zidane Sam making 22. Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Kemron John took 2 for 13.

In their run chase, Gomea Bombers limped to 46 for 9 in 15.4 overs, undone by the bowling of Krishna Da Silva who had figures of 3 for 14.

And given 15 overs per side, RSVG Police made 118 for 5 from their allotment. Gosnel Cupid, 35 and Renrick Cato, 32. Bowling for Country Meets Town Outa Trouble, Rawdon Bentick took 2 for 18.

But Out Ah Trouble found the bowling of Malcovin Jack, 3 for 9 and Osrick James, 3 for 12, stifling, and could only make 60 for 9 from their 15 overs.

This gave RSVG Police, the 2011 winners of the competition, the win by 58 runs.
