No stopping Cavaliers in BCL

There seems no stopping Cavaliers in this year’s Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL).

Cavaliers’ most recent win saw them trampling Pak Brighton at Marine Park A.{{more}}

Batting first, Pak Brighton was shot out for 67 in 14 overs. Orlando Mofford was the destroyer, taking 5 for 10.

Cavaliers made light work of their response, yielding 68 for 2, winning by eight wickets.

Other results in the T/20 competition were favourable for other Vincentian teams Middlesex and Imperial. In an all-Vincy square-off, Middlesex bettered Queensbury by 124 runs.

Taking first strike, Middlesex rushed to 243 for 4 from 20 overs.

An opening partnership between Mark Audain and David Lewis yielded 161 runs.

Lewis, the more aggressive of the two, slammed 11 fours and three sixes in his 83, while Audain’s 72 included six fours and four sixes.

Also contributing was Rod Michael with four fours and three sixes, in a belligerent knock of 38.

Bowling for Queensbury, Kiran Cuffy took 2 for 44.

Responding, Queensbury were dismissed for 110 in 11.2 overs. Jeremy Warrick laced nine fours and a six in his top score of 52.

Bowling for Middlesex, Apurva Nair had 3 for 42 and Stephan Wilson – 2 for 13.

And, at Marine Park C, Imperial beat Yankees by eight wickets. Yankees made 110 all out in 19.1 overs. It took Imperial only seven overs to reach the target, scoring 111 for 2.

A top score of 59, from former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windward Islands batsman Hyron Shallow, piloted Imperial to an eight-wicket win.(RT)
