Kiddy cricketers climbing the ladder
The process of upward mobility for aspiring cricketers who are part of the Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket programme here in St Vincent and the Grenadines rests in the hands of the coaches of the Grassroots set-up.{{more}}
Another batch of 20 was spotted during a five-day camp held last week at the Arnos Vale Playing Field. Under the keen eyes of Stanley Hinds, Bill Edwards, Uzzah Pope, Andrew Bramble, Gosnel Cupid and Bertram Stapleton, the lot was selected.
Those selected for the furthering of their skills are Lenroy Dalzell, Elvin Ashton, Solomon Bascombe, D-Vonte Charles, Jarrell Edwards, Tavonte Forde, Zafico Hoyte, Kirtney Franklyn, Joshua James, Keiann Mc Millian, Jovel Morgan, Shummur Peters, Brandon Richards, Conroy Small, Jamya Shade, Jamarie Tash, Gideon Richards, Shemron Phillips, Rosique Toney and Josh Stowe.
Elvin Ashton of the Fancy Primary and Josh Stowe of the Bequia Anglican received additional honours, as they were listed as the best batsman and bowler.
Meanwhile, Jamya Shade of the Bequia Anglican, who is predominantly a wicketkeeper took the award for best fielder.
The Fitz-Hughes Primaryâs pair of Uriah Lett â MVP female and Gideon Richards â MVP male stashed the other accolades which were presented.
Last weekâs camp marked the third year that the camp was hosted.(RT)
