The course took the elite bunch of cyclists from outside Howard’s Marine at Villa to the Arnos Vale roundabout, then to Georgetown. The cyclists on reaching Mt Grenan headed back to Georgetown, then to the Arnos Vale roundabout and back to Diamonds, before finishing at the starting point.

Following Adams to the finish line was Enroy Lewis, whose time was three hours 01.43 seconds and third, Lucky Antrobus in three hours 8 minutes 49.21 seconds.

The other among the top lot to endure to the end was Dominic Ollivierre, some way behind in three hours 25 minutes 58.43 seconds.

Quasim Thomas was the only junior cyclist to finish. His time was two hours 8 minutes 59 seconds. Similarly, the lone finisher in the masters’ category was Randy Wilkinson, in two hours 58 minutes 19.14 seconds.

However, Thomas and Wilkinson finished where they started, on their return from Georgetown.
