And, the Vincentians would have all to play for, as the tournament is set for their home soil, come 2016.

In pursuit of a 15th lien on the sub-regional title, St Vincent and the Grenadines had to settle for the runner-up behind Grenada when the 2015 edition closed off last Wednesday at the Pam Tyson Netball Stadium in St Kitts.

Incidentally, St Vincent and the Grenadines’ lone loss was to Grenada in their opening fixture on Saturday.

Although victorious in their other four matches, neither St Kitts, St Lucia, Dominica nor Montserrat were able to stop the Grenadians who played unbeaten to claim their fourth title.

St Vincent and the Grenadines, after going under to Grenada 39-34, dismissed host St Kitts 50-40 and Dominica 55-33 in that order.

Hoping for a lifeline through the goal differential route if one of the other teams had upstaged Grenada, the Vincentians went hard against the lowly placed Montserratians, beating them 77-12.

Finally, St Vincent and the Grenadines ground St Lucia to certain dethronement with a 5-35 triumph on the final night of competition, last Wednesday.

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ top goal shooter Kadijah Williams was crowned the most efficient player in the circle. Williams was also her team’s Most Valuable Player.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was second in 2014 to St Lucia, following back-to-back wins in 2012 and 2013. The other 12 titles were attained 1991 to 1994, 1996, 1998 to 2002 and 2006 and 2007.(RT)
