GTC’s summer camp back on the agenda

Following a one-year break, the Grassroot Tennis Club Summer Camp is back in action.

The annual camp, which has been around since 2010, takes place at the Grassroot Tennis Centre, located at the Haddon Hotel’s courts on Murray’s Road and runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.{{more}}

The camp opened on Monday, but persons still wishing to have their children or wards be part of the experience may do so by picking up registration forms, which are available at the club house.

“We took a break last year, one – to do some repairs to our courts and two – hoping the national association would have taken up the slack; but they did not, so here we are again,” Connell told SEARCHLIGHT.

Connell noted that the GTC is committed to the development of tennis in St Vincent and the Grenadines; hence it is endeavouring to ensure that through the summer camp and other activities, the latent talents will be unearthed and harnessed for the national good.

Connell said that at the end of the camp, the usual pomp awaits all those who were part of it.(RT)
