Adams last Sunday gave a dry run as a prelude to this OECS encounter by copping the 65-mile road race, leaving the field behind in some distance.
His winning time was three hours 14 minutes 41 seconds, as the race utilized the Villa Flat to Arnos Vale Roundabout to Georgetown and back circuit.
Taking the second place, almost five minutes behind Adams, was Enroy Lewis, in three hours 19 minutes 30 seconds.
Docking in third was Zefal Bailey, in three hours 22 minutes 13 seconds.
The top three finishers, along with Lucky Antrobus and Tortola based Orano Andrews, will saddle up in Vincentian colours for the OECS event.
They will return to the roads of Anguilla on Sunday to be part of the John T Memorial race.
The OECS race will be over a distance of 53 miles, while the John T Memorialâs course is set at 82.5 miles.
Apart from the five cyclists, three officials have travelled to Anguilla as the management team:
Shimano Bailey, Peter Durrant and Orel George.
President of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union Trevor Bailey said that once the cyclists ride as they should, St Vincent and the Grenadines should be on the podium.
When the 2014 edition of the OECS championships were staged here last year, Antigua and Barbudaâs trio of Jyme Bridges, Robert Marsh and Tasheed Gordon won the open, veterans and juniors categories, respectively.
The best showing by a Vincentian was Zefal Baileyâs seventh place in the 70-mile event.
The Vincentian team is expected back home on Monday.
