These new additions were instituted following a recommendation by Olympic Solidarity coach Sean McKay, who identified the absence of such posts as gaps in the technical development of the sport here.

Andrews, who has been a stalwart contributor to volleyball has the responsibility of guiding the association from a grassroots level.

He will be responsible for introducing the game to youngsters through school visits, volleyball festivals, summer camps and community outreach programmes.

Meanwhile, Constantine’s priority list is to expand secondary schools’ competition to include more participating school teams. To this end, Constantine has to initiate start-up programmes to help schools gain the knowledge needed to start their own efforts.

Franklyn’s role entails finding ways and means to revive, expand and develop club volleyball around the island.

Commenting on the appointments, Mc Kay, who is winding up his four-month stint here, stated: “These individuals were chosen based not only on their outstanding qualifications, but also their true passion for the sport of volleyball…I am very excited to watch Vincy volleyball grow, as the association teams up with these gentlemen.”(RT)
