Semi-finalists decided in NLA First Division

Smashers and iShallz Byam’s Physical Therapy have advanced to the semi-finals of the National Lotteries Authority first division, where they join Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors and Combine Youths in the last four.{{more}}

The semi-finals match-ups, set for June 6 and 7, see Smashers taking on Unique Warriors at Arnos Vale Two and at Arnos Vale One, Combine Youths play iShallz Byam’s Physical Therapy, according to a media release from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association.

However, the release noted that the fixtures are subject to change.

Upping the gear from the 50-over format, teams will shift to a two-day contest in the semi-finals.

Smashers ensured their place when they beat Prime Consulting Marriaqua by 100 runs at the Sion Hill Playing Field and at Buccament, iShallz Byam’s Physical Therapy outdid Victors Two by 56 runs, last Sunday.

Smashers posted 157 all out in 29.3 overs; Ozico Williams struck 49, Deptor Culzac 38 and Cuthbert Springer 34.

Bowling for Marriaqua, Jeremy Layne took 3 for 32, Glenroy Jacobs 2 for 31 and Isaac Haywood 2 for 36.

Courtney Joyette with 4 for 6, Javon Samuel 3 for 21 and Darren Russell 2 for 11, then combined to send Marriaqua packing for 57 in 19.1 overs.

Meanwhile, iShallz Byam’s Physical Therapy put together 176 off 33.3 overs. The principal scorers were Romano Charles, 39 and Leon Quashie and Imran Samuel, with 35 each.

Bowling for Victors Two, Jermaine Cruickshank grabbed 4 for 50 and Adinal Richards 2 for 39.

Victors Two’s response stopped at 120 all out off 31 overs; Kishore Shallow led the way with 41, as Zimron Providence picked up 5 for 19 and Donald Delpesche 2 for 12.
