Ethan Myers among standouts at Austin Sealey Classics
Vincentian Ethan Myers was among the outstanding athletes last weekend at the Austin Sealey Classics, staged in Barbados.
Competing for X-Cel Academy, Myers, in the Under-15 age group placed first in the 80 metres hurdles, as well as the long jump.
In the hurdles, he clocked 13.04 seconds over the obstacles and sprang a distance of 5.56 metres in the long jump.{{more}}
Myers also placed second in the 200 m in 24.86 seconds and was third in the 100 m, clocking 12.25 seconds.
Sharing the spotlight with Myers were Achilles Browne â B C Trac; Vivica Addison â Rising Stars; Savion Hoyte â Rising Stars; Kyanna Collymore â Lodge; Tiana Bowen â Rising Stars; Ronnel Jacobs â Jaguars of Tobago; Daryl Sobers â B C Trac and Joshua Benjamin Phelipa-Trupial of Curacao.
Myers, a second form student of the St Vincent Grammar School, said he was happy at his efforts and the opportunity to show his wares overseas.
A member of the St Vincent and the Grenadines training squad for the Central America and Caribbean Juvenile Championships at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in July 18 -19, Myers, 13, hopes to make the final cut.
