Transport and Works nipped their opponents by seven runs in a competitive final.

The champions had scored 41, then restricted the Ministry of Agriculture to 34 from their 20 balls.

Before reaching the finals, Transport, also on Tuesday, knocked over Ministry of Reconciliation by 34 runs.

Transport’s total of 68 was too much for Reconciliation, who could only reach 34 in reply.

But it was a tougher outing for the eventual champions in the semi-finals, versus Ministry of National Mobilization, whom they beat by three runs. Transport’s 36 was not bettered by Mobilization, who scored 33.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture defeated the Ministry of Housing by three runs, to advance to the semi-finals. Scores: Agriculture – 34, Housing – 31.

And, in the last four, the Ministry of Agriculture stopped the Ministry of Education also by three runs in identical fashion, as was the case in their quarter-finals.

The Ministry of Education copped the third place over Ministry of National Mobilization.

The next event on the inter-ministerial sports calendar is the football component, which begins May19 at the Grammar School Playing Field.
