Victors One redeem with big triumph

Victors One redeemed themselves after their outright loss to Guardian General Saints the previous weekend, to defeat Triumph United by an innings and 188 runs, as the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division continued last weekend.{{more}}

Facing the struggling Triumph United at the Sion Hill Playing Field, Victors One, on the back of tons by Atticus Browne – 147 not out and Donwell Hector – 103, made 373 for 8 declared.

Miles Bascombe, 37, and Norlan Williams, 30, added to their team’s massive total.

Rohan Ash was able to pick up 5 for 98 during Victors One’s run party.

Triumph United at their turn, rolled over for 95 in 35.2 overs. Travis Cumberbatch led the way with 49 not out, as Norlan Williams grabbed 4 for 27 and Miles Bascombe 3 for 6.

Asked to follow on, Triumph United made 87 all out in 35 overs.

Miles Bascombe, 3 for 19, and Norlan Williams, 3 for 28, were Victors One’s most successful bowlers.

At Stubbs, Guardian General Saints took first innings points over The News Spartans in a drawn game.

The News Spartans made 150 in their first innings; Dominic Da Silva was 36 not out and Ronaldo Coombs, 30.

Bowling for Saints, Rolando Wright bagged 5 for 49 and Damaul Phillips 2 for 31.

Saints in response made 182: Rickford Walker – 59, Andrew Emtage – 57 and Vincent Cupid – 30. Gidron Pope took 4 for 57 and Teran Simon – 2 for 18.

Batting a second time, Spartans were 106 for 4 when play was called off.

Gidron Pope helped himself to 47. Wright had taken 2 for 29.

And at Park Hill, Team Rivals won their game as a result of Police Two forfeiting the match by not turning up on time on the second day of the match.
