One Vincentian in Windwards Under-15 cricket team

Tijoun Pope is the lone Vincentian to be selected to the Windwards Under-15 team for this year’s regional tournament.

The 14-member team comprises Kimani Melius of St Lucia – captain, along with his country men Chaz Cepal, {{more}}Lee Solomon, Rene Montoute, and Simeon Gerson.

Also included are Dominicans Tahj Tavernier as vice-captain, Ethan Doctrove, Jahseon Alexander and Micah Joseph, with Grenadians Cazari Charles, Lennoy Charles, Razim Elihie and Shakim Edwards.

The reserves are Corrie Simon – Grenada, Melchizedek Matthew also of Grenada and Nigel Jno Lewis – Dominica.

Meanwhile, in the just concluded Windwards tournament held in St Lucia, several persons were in for awards.

Kimani Melius scored the most runs – 233, with a highest score of 110, with Micah Joseph snaring the most wickets –17, and also having the best bowling figures, 6 for 16 versus Grenada. Tavanier had the most dismissals as a wicketkeeper – 8.

St Lucia scored the highest total of the tournament – 278, versus St Vincent and the Grenadines, while in reverse, the Vincentian lads recorded the lowest total – 53, made against Dominica.

St Lucia placed first, Dominica – second, Grenada – third and St Vincent and the Grenadines finished at the bottom of the table.
