When the competition took a break last Thursday for the Christmas festivities, Prospect sat on 13 points, accumulated from four wins and one draw.

Prospect, with all their preliminary matches accounted for, solidified their position last Thursday, downing the cocky Maxx Strikers 7-1, at the competition’s venue — the Calliaqua Playing Field.

A hat-trick from Lezlo Mc Kenzie, plus a goal each from Josh De Grads, Jeremy John and an own goal converted by Maxx Strikers, counted up the items for Prospect.

Keith James scored the consolation for Maxx Strikers.

Trailing Prospect are Maxx Strikers, Choppins United and Playing It Safe, all levelled on six points from four matches.

The remainder of Group A shows Carapan United on four points from their maximum five matches and Diamond Youths — three points from four matches.

In Group B, both Brighton United and Diamond United are locked on 10 points from their four matches, but with the former enjoying a superior goal difference.

Following them is Glenside Ball Blazers on nine points from four outings. SVG Coastguard has six points, having completed their five matches.

And, at the bottom of the pack, Choppins Youths failed to deliver a point from their five matches.

The league is set to resume on January 4, 2015.(RT)
