Inter-Ministerial Sports and Games competition climaxes

The Inter-Ministerial Sports and Games came to an end on November 27, with the staging of a Road Relay from the Arnos Vale One Playing Field to the Financial Complex in Kingstown.{{more}}

The Ministry of Agriculture, Industry, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation won the event after Government Minister Saboto Ceasar gave his Ministry a convincing lead at the start of the first leg. The Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture placed second, followed by the Ministry of Transport and Works.

The Games saw the different minstries competiting in various disciplines such as dominoes, which was won by the Ministry of National Mobilzation; Street 20 Cricket – won by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Customs and Excise winning the football competition; Ministry of Transport and Works capturing the netball; Ministry of Education clinching the volleyball title; and the Ministry of Agriculture taking the road relay spot.

The overall winner of the Games was the Ministry of Education with a total of 28 points, followed by the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture and the Ministry of Agriculture with 26 points each, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with 18 points.

The Games began in April, 2014.

This event was organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture. The competitions were executed by the Division of Physical Education and Sports.
