Their rays this time fell on Bequia Cricket Association, as North East Stars radiated with a 43-run win on their happy hunting ground, the Park Hill Playing Field.

North East crafted 158 for 9 off 20 overs, with Deighton Butler scoring 47 and Jerry Matthias 28.

Larson Ollivierre snapped up 3 for 19 and Ormond Bellingy 3 for 35, bowling for Bequia Cricket Association Masters, who were restricted to 115 for 8 off their maximum 20 overs.

Terrance Mc Kree, who compiled 33 and Shyann Glynn 30, blocked the light of North East Stars’ bowling.

Daniel McMillan with 3 for 20, Jerry Matthias – 2 for 12 and Cornelius Springer – 2 for 13, all sparked for North East Stars, as they won their fourth match on the trot. At Buccament, also on Sunday, Sion Hill defeated Pastures by 10 wickets.

Pastures laboured 111 for 3 off 20 overs; Robbie Hackshaw hit 33, Titmus Trimingham – 32 and Ardon Hall – 22.

Keyon Jack then struck 82 not out and Michael Duncan stroked 25 not out, as Sion Hill responded with 114 without loss off 13.2 overs.

Also at the Buccament venue, Carlos James North Leeward stopped Metrocint General Insurance Sagicor Richards Masters by six wickets.

Richards Masters were shot out for 41 in 12.4 overs. Conroy Ryan took 4 for 10, bowling for North Leeward.

Despite Benjamin Austin’s 3 for 6, which involved a hat-trick, North Leeward reached 42 for 4 off 8.1 overs.

And, the defending champions Log Enterprises Kingstown and Henny Penny encounter was abandoned because of rain.

At the time of the abandonment, Henny Penny had reached 10 for 2 after 3 overs.

This was on Saturday at the Buccament Bay Playing Field.(RT)
