And, last Sunday, they went one step further, as they marched into the next round of the knock-out competition when they beat arch rivals Combined Girls 46-29 at the Stubbs Government School hard court.

In eliminating Combined Girls, Gailene Gordon was the top shooter for Crystals, as she poured in 41 out of 53.

Combined Girls’ hot hand was Roseclaire Hall, who registered 25 out of 29 attempts.

It was the second downing of Combined Girls by Crystals, as last Thursday, Crystals secured the league title with a 38-25 trumping over their opponents.

On that afternoon of decision, Gordon was again the lead scorer, as she netted 35 of her 40 tries, while it was Jasmine Frank who was successful with 23 of her 26 attempts, but in a losing cause for Combined Girls.

Also joining Crystals in the next round of the elimination process were Stubbs Combined, who thrashed New Era Pepper Stars, 36-11.

Vasha Adams led the way for Stubbs combined, with 12 out of 19 attempts, while Sharon Richards had 8 of her 20 registered for New Era Pepper Stars.

The competition shuts down this Sunday, with the staging of the Knock-out Finals. (RT)
