Their presence though, will be primarily to make the qualifying times for the Penn Relays in April in the United States of America.

The 10 males and four females, along with the team’s head coach, Godfrey Harry, will make the trip.

At the relay fair, the TSS athletes are expected to contest the Medley Relay, the 4×100 m and the 4x 400m.

Once the qualification standards are attained, the TSS will be off to the USA.

There the TSS team will be competing in the High School Girls’ 4×100 Small Schools and the High School Girls’ 4×400.

The boys will participate in the High School Boys’ 4×100 Small Schools event and the High School Boys’ 4×400.

The Thomas Saunders Secondary School made history in 2011, by becoming the first Vincentian institution to attend the Penn Relays. Since, the school has attended the famed relays in 2012 and 2013.

The Penn Relays, which attracts about 22,000 athletes, is hosted annually during the latter part of the month of April by the University of Pennsylvania at the Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

The Penn Relays, also called the Penn Relays Carnival, is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, and dates back to 1895. (RT)
