Dissatisfied with the state of the pitch and needing somewhere to practice, the clubâs members embarked on its redo.
And, with material help from others, the pitch was dug up and re-laid.
Spokesperson for the club Titmus Trimmingham told SEARCHLIGHT that they were forced to take the initiative since there were holes in the pitch and nothing had been done about it.
Trimmingham said that he had informed the National Sports Council of their intent, then went about sourcing material and structured their plan for completing the task.
A delighted Trimmingham further pointed out that he was happy that their input is helping others, as the schools in the locale â namely the St Vincent Grammar School and the Thomas Saunders Secondary â can have access to the pitch for practice for the ongoing schoolsâ cricket competition.(RT)
