The matches are carded for the Sion Hill Playing Field and are set to commence at 4 p.m. on both days.

Sunday’s match will follow an Under-18 encounter from 2 p.m., when Sion Hill hosts North Windward as that division of the National Inter Community League Championships gets going.

Reports are that some new faces will be blooded by the St Vincent and the Grenadines technical teams, as this country looks ahead to the 2018 world cup qualifiers.

St Vincent and the Grenadines is also preparing for the 2014 Caribbean Football Cup.

The invitation was extended to the Dominicans after their planned visit here last April 19, to be part of the revived Windward Islands tournament had to be shelved , following the death of two members of the squad – the coach and a player.

The two – coach Kurt Hector and player Norran Jno Hope were travelling to the Melville Hall airport on that fatal Friday morning to meet with the others for the trip here, when the vehicle in which they were travelling plunged into a 40-foot opening on the Pond Case Road, as the island experienced heavy rains.

The other passenger of the vehicle- , Joslin Prince, who was also en route to St Vincent and the Grenadines, escaped death.

As a mark of recognition for the passing of Hector and Jno Hope, the R. M. G. Sports Complex in La Plaine in their native land, was renamed as the ‘The Kurt Hector and Norran Jno Hope Sports Complex.” (RT)
