Adams, who had opened with the Sion Hill Sprint last Sunday afternoon, notched up another win in the 35 mile Ratho Mill to the Arnos Vale roundabout road race in one hour 37 minutes 10 seconds.

In the process, Adams clipped his rival and nemesis Zefal Bailey whose time was one hour 37 minutes 11 seconds, as both sprinted to the finish line.

Taking the third spot was Peter Durrant, who had much to shout about as usual, as he completed the course in one hour 37 minutes 15 seconds. Deptor Culzac was fourth in one hour 39 minutes 25 seconds.

Durrant also claimed the veterans’ category for cyclists 40 years and over. Placing second in that age group was Martin Bollers and third was Orel George.

The next event on the road will be a keep fit event set for Sunday, February 16.

Before that though, there will be a training session at the Arnos Vale Playing Field this Saturday, February 8, with visiting cycling coach Chris Kilmurray. (RT)
