Charity for him must begin at home as he started off last Saturday morning in his community Campden Park, at the Campden Park Playing Field.
Starting last Saturday with close to 20, Ollivierre foresees the numbers swelling in the coming weeks, as the programme entrenches.
Using the Long Term Athletics Development (LTAD) model, Ollivierre would progress from fundamentals to train stage.
His thesis is in part fulfillment of the International Coaching Enrichment Certification Programme (ICECP), having completed five weeks of training at the University of Delaware and at the US Olympic Training Center at Colorado Springs in Colorado, in the United States of America.
A former St Vincent and the Grenadines footballer, coach Ollivierre will be targeting the schools as well as the various communities in the process.
With the leeward side already in motion, Ollivierre will then shift his attention to the windward side.
Ollivierre reaffirmed that part of his objective is to endeavour to balance sports with the academic development of his charges.
Following the completion of the project, the coach is required to defend his thesis, and if successful, he would be on his way towards implementation.
Ollivierre, who is the current technical director of St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ Football, is the first from the sport of football to embark on the ICECP.
Others before him from other sports were Rosmund Griffith and Rawlson Morgan – track and field; Khalique Bailey – table tennis and Eardley Martin – volleyball. (RT)
