Football affiliates to elect new first vice president tomorrow

The executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation will meet with affiliates tomorrow, Saturday, January 11, to elect a new first vice president.{{more}}

That position became vacant last November with the sudden resignation of Lloyd Small. Seeking to replace Small are Wayne Grant, Kenton Ollivierre, Clemroy “Bert” Francois and Osborne Bowens.

Both Grant and Ollivierre are entering the fray for the first time, while Bowens and Francois are previous servants on the national scene.

Francois is a current committee member who is in pursuit of elevation. He is also the local referees’ instructor and assessor, as well as a CFU and CONCACAF referees’ instructor.

Bowens, whilst not on the executive, is local referees’ administrator.

The post of first vice president carries the responsibilities for technical matters of the SVGFF.

Saturday’s meeting, which will be held at the Federation’s office at Bentinck Square, will give an update on the most recent findings in its financial operations. The need to update the findings is as a result of the November 9 Annual General Meeting, at which it was revealed that $96,485 could not be accounted for.

Offering the olive branch, affiliates then gave the secretariat of the SVGFF three months to reconcile the funds, as the federation’s treasurer Marvin Fraser assured that the funds were all spent on football related matters. Fraser also took full responsibility for the inefficiencies.

Tomorrow’s meeting begins at 10 a.m.(RT)
