Facing a leg weary Spring Village United (SVU), Greiggs were all over their opponents from the get go. The midfield dominance of Greiggs resulted in Keno Matthews bursting through the Spring Village defence with a turn of speed to score midway in the first half.
Matthews placed two more balls in the goal in the second stanza of the match to bury an already clueless and deflated SVU outfit.
Greiggs had a golden opportunity to make it four, but Don Laborde missed his retaken penalty.
For his hat trick, Matthews stashed away the Player of the Final trophy.
Greiggs gained the winnerâs trophy and $3,000 and SVU – a trophy and $2,000.
Greiggs reached the final with a one-nil ousting of LP Boys, while SVU got past Carib Warriors 3-1 in the other half of the semi-finals.
LP Boys went on to take the third place and the $1,000 that was at stake. They did so without breaking a sweat, as Carib Warriors did not show last Friday when play was called.
Taking the Best Goalkeeper award was Deno Charles of LP Boys, with SVUâs Kevin Quashie, the Best Defender.
Carib Warriorsâ Zuric Child was voted the Best Midfielder.
The Top Goal Scorer was LP Boysâ Kezel Johnson, who registered seven goals.
Fancy Attackers were adjudged the Most Disciplined Team.(RT)
