Central Windward outclass North Leeward in Under-15 Cricket final

The talent pool which exists in the Central Windward area manifested itself last Saturday, when that community took the Glenroy “Hart” Durrant Zonal Under-15 Cricket title.{{more}}

The lads from that locale proved too good for their North Leeward opponents in the final, played at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

Batting first, North Leeward was dismissed for 81 in 30.2 overs; Ronaldo Franklyn top scored with 32. Dellorn Douglas had 4 for 9 from 4.2 overs; Rayshawn Johnson – 3 for 12 from 7 overs and Ronaldson Hillocks, who picked up 2 for 13 from his 7 overs, combined to stall North Leeward’s batting.

Player of the Final Dellorn Douglas then hit 37 not out, as Central Windward romped to 87 for 3 from 21.2 overs to a comfortable seven-wicket win. Derrick Mason, with 2 for 24, was North Leeward’s best bowler.

In getting to last Saturday’s final, Central Windward took out St George by 89 runs at the Park Hill Playing Field. Central Windward scored 197 all out, with Dellorn Douglas 55.

Jahziel Walters grabbed 6 for 26, bowling for St George, whose innings stopped at 108. Robertson Young took 5 for 25. Meanwhile, North Leeward overcame North Windward by four wickets at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

Scores : North Windward – 115 all out; Shane Roberts had 36. Bowling for North Leeward, Ojay Matthews took 4 for 19 and Derrick Mason – 4 for 36.
