Alexander, who suited up for Thompson Cooling Transit Force, for his bravery, earned himself the League’s 2013 Most Promising award.

But the Arnos Vale League is not his first taste of “big men” football, as he has ventured out in the Biabou Nine-A-Side League with his team as well.

Apart from the award presented to Alexander, other individual awards were presented at last Sunday’s closing ceremony, held after the final between General Hardware Richmond Hill United and Comsports Masters.

Somari Webb of Richmond Hill was adjudged the Player of the Final and received a football.

Reynold John, of third placed Sharpes United, copped the most goals award for his 10 goals. He was presented with a football and a pair of football shoes.

The most valuable players of each of the participating teams all received medals.

The medals were presented to Emmanuel Ogbonnaya – 1998 Hillside Rollers; Reynold John – Sharpes United; Brad Richards – Hope International; Shin Boyea – System 3 One; Curtis Joseph – Hot Sun Ballers; Rodney Foster – Customs; Dave Hayde – Transit Force and Ardon Hall – Bio-Diversity.

Completing the list of MVP awardees were Arrington Burgin – Vintage; Deptor Culzac – Richmond Hill; Jomo Glasgow – Comsports Masters; Fair Hall United – Sojerald Mc Dowald; System 3 Two – Marcus Browne; Dove – Jadiel Dopwell; Rock Rollers – Attius Enville and Gary Jack – Major Strikers.

National Properties Limited Fair Hall was voted the Most Disciplined Team.

Last Sunday’s closing ceremony was addressed by Michael John, chairperson of the Arnos Vale Football League; Cecil Mc Kie, parliamentary representative for West St George and Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture; and Venold Coombs – president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Association.
