AFL closes off this Sunday

The 2013 edition of the Hairoun Beer/Computec/Comsports Arnos Vale Football League will shut down this Sunday afternoon with the final.{{more}}

One finalist was known at press time – Comsports Masters, who dismantled Hope International in Tuesday’s first semi-final.

And six of the goals scored by Comsports Masters were netted by former national players.

The comprehensive victory came from braces by Dexter Walker and Rohan Keizer, as well as single strikes from Christopher Harry and Roy Marshall and an own goal.

Hope International’s goal came from the boot of Raphique Bradshaw.

Comsports Masters’ opponents in the final was to be decided yesterday, when General Hardware Richmond Hill was set to meet Shares United.

Comsports Masters’ road to the final began last Saturday, when they downed 1998 Hillside Rollers 3-nil, thanks to strikes from Roy Marshall, Shane Daniel and Rohan Keizer.

In other quarter-final results, Sharpes United defeated National Properties Limited Fair Hall 5-4, from kicks from the penalty spot after both teams had played to a 1-1 tie in regulation time.

Semi-finalist Richmond Hill edged out System 3 One 2-1. Richmond Hill’s goals came from Carlos Richards and Obandell Neverson and for System 3, Gerald Stapleton.

Hope’s advancement to the last four was at the expense of Vintage FC, 4-2.

On the score sheet of Hope International were Brad Richards, Raffique Bailey, Junior Roberts and Marlon Chance.

Garfield Hayde and an own goal were responsible for Vintage’s tally.

Following Sunday’s final, the presentation ceremony will take place. (RT)
