But it will be more than a final, as Novice will be looking to obtain revenge from Simple Boys for a win they secured in the opening match of the 2013 edition.

Novice’s berth into the final came last Sunday morning, when they faced off with EZ Woods Toppers in the semi-finals, while Simple Boys toppled Gomea Bombers on Saturday.

And, Novice showed their worth in recording a four-wicket triumph over their opponents.

Toppers batted first and scored 132 for 6 in their 20 overs; Vernardo Primus made 37 and Miles Bascombe – 36.

Richie Richards was Novice’s top bowler with 3 for 32.

Novice replied with 133 for 6 from 17.5 overs; Hyron Shallow and Roderick John both crafted 56 apiece.

In the process, Chris King took 2 for 27, bowling for Toppers.

On Saturday, Simple Boys diffused Gomea Bombers by 64 runs.

Simple Boys batted first and made 129 for 7 in their 20 overs; Elric Morris hit 39 and Nicos Davis – 35 not out.

Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Kendal Payne made 3 for 30 and Ricky King 2 for 19

In reply, Gomea Bombers were blown away for 65 all out in 18.1 overs, Ovando O’Brian top scored with 27.

Travis Cumberbatch, 3 for 1, Casmond Walters 3 for 15 and Kenny Hunte, 2 for 10, ensured that history did not repeat itself, as Gomea Bombers had halted Simple Boys’ progress at the semi final stage in last year’s edition.

Toppers and Gomea Bombers contest the third place play-off from 11a.m.

Simple Boys will have to do without Desron Maloney and Casmond Walters, who will be away in Grenada on national duties with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket team in the Windwards T-20 competition.

Following Sunday’s final, the presentation and closing ceremony will take place. (RT)
