The Inaugural United Insurance Invitational Swim Meet will take place on October 19 and 20, 2013 at the Shrewsbury Pool, Ratho Mill. Hosted by the Black Sands Swim Squad, St Vincent and the Grenadines’ premiere competitive swim team, the meet will also feature competitive swimmers from the island of Grenada.

Tamara Brackin, local representative for United Insurance, recently presented the sponsorship funds to team coaches Sarah Smith and Kyle Dougan. “United is very happy to be able to assist the Black Sands Swim Squad with the hosting of this competitive meet. It is vital to give our youth every encouragement to excel and this is a great opportunity to do so. We look forward to a thrilling and competitive meet.”

The two-day meet will feature races over 25, 50, 100 and 200 metres, including individual medleys and relays. Swimmers will primarily be competing in many different categories – starting with eight years and under and continuing through out the age groups from nine and over. United Insurance and the Black Sands Swim Squad are inviting everyone to come out and support this exciting event.
