National Under-15s stashed in Group D of CONCACAF football championships

St Vincent and the Grenadines is stashed in Group D of the inaugural CONCACF Under-15 football championships, set for the Cayman Islands from August 13 to 25.{{more}}

The Vincentians open up their campaign on August 14 against Antigua and Barbuda, then face Martinique the following day.

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ next match is August 17, when they engage El Salvador in their final preliminary round match on August 19.

Eighteen players and three officials have been selected to make the trip. The players are Mark Charles, Javil Lewis, Kaicy Peniston, Derron Rouse, Tevin Davis, Timon Mc Kie Marcus Dennie, Kewon Charles, John Compton, Dylan John, Jante James, Avanzini Victory, Jamal Bishop, Carlos Solomon, Trey Prince, Javal Samuel, Kesean Phillips and Nyron Butcher.

Former St Vincent and the Grenadines player Christopher Harry is the team’s coach, with Rohan Thomas Jr, manager, Lorson Lewis, assistant manager and T’ Shaka Patterson, trainer/physiotherapist.

The other participating countries have been placed in the other three groups.

The Cayman Islands, Aruba, St Maarten, US Virgin Islands and the Bahamas make up Group A, with Grenada, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, St Lucia and Belize making up Group B.

Completing the participating countries are Trinidad and Tobago, Honduras, St Martin, Guadeloupe, St Kitts and Nevis and Curacao, who are stacked in Group C.

The top team in each of the four groups will head straight into the semi-finals on August 23, with the final carded for August 25. (RT)
